Well, why? Just because being so to say in an average citizen's shoes I have not found something like this on the net.
What for in general? Though being one of the cofounders of the Organization of the United Nations, Belarus is still almost unknown even in Europe, not to say about all over the world. And what little is being said about Belarus draws mostly a black and white picture. I have no ambitions as to change the image as a whole, but why not to try to show that there are some other colors as well? (Actually that's one of the reasons why the site is in English).
And what for in particular?
1. To provide links to the best, or if not to the best then to the unique information sources from and about Belarus. There is no sense in trying to compete with the search sites and Internet catalogues in the number of links, so let's try to compensate the quantity by the quality.
2. To be able to say a word and to provide such an opportunity to others, when having got fed up with talking heads in venal mass media and no less venal politicians (Even if nobody listens to it).
